Yoga For Tension Relief | Yoga With Adriene

Please join me for this 28-minute at-home yoga practice designed to help you feel good and bring you back into a balanced state. As we know, emotional, mental, and/or physical stress can lead to the collection of tension in the mind and body. This cooling and calming practice was created specifically to help relieve any accumulated tension.

Become present with what’s happening this very moment. A gentle reminder to call upon the breath, body awareness, and to find stillness. This practice can be used as preventative care or to address current tension and stress.

Invite a sense of calm and, as always, Find What Feels Good.

Optional Props: blanket or towel

  1. I had a painful crick in my neck all day. That position with the head over the shoulder and the arm extended provided a flood of relief to my neck. I almost skipped this session today. So happy I didn’t!!

  2. Perfect way to end the month of September. This has been an extremely trying month. Even though it flew by each day felt like a test. I am so thankful for this yoga practice and the YWA community. I hope October brings lots of reassurance and strength.

  3. Today, I completed a year of doing Yoga With Adriene every day! Thank you so much, Adriene. My strength and balance have increased and I feel more resilient and grounded in my everyday life. I plan to continue – maybe one day my heels will touch the ground in Downward Dog! Thank you all, for such a supportive community, particularly in these strange times. xx

  4. In honour of our September calendar, when I swapped a few 🙄 I breathed my way through this awesome calming practice. I often use that deep slow Ujjayi breath when I need to be in control of my life, my pain and to reset my mind to keep positive. As we chilled at the end, it came to mind the Mantra given to you by your Mom …. “ everything is as it should be “ 🌺🙏 I feel so calm coming off my mat ! I’m looking forward to our STILL calendar and to being extra positive 🧘🏼‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️🧘🏻‍♂️🙏💕

  5. And yet again the September calendar is synching with my day! It's my matric farewell today so I will have some tension today, but this video- along with Adriene and Benji- makes me start my day the correct way.

  6. Who has done the entire September calendar? Tomorrow, we slow down and become STILL, to find peace, strength and inner connection. Today, we finish RESETting with this lovely offering. See you on the mat.
Reset day 30. 361 days in a row.
